Some features of this website may not be compatible however it should not affect your ability to apply. You'll need to create a web account before you can apply for an Oyster photocard.
You can use your phones to pay for the tube using contactless payments from your bank card to go on the tube ie. Why then can an Oyster card not be added as one of the cards, using the same technology?
Maybe in a separate app such as the app for Cafe Nero or Tesco Clubcard.
What is happening is that in the backend, they are moving Oyster to use the same processing as Contactless.Simply complete your details and your Coachcard will be posted to your home address (£2.50 p&p will be added to your purchase).Your Coachcard can take up to 7 days to be delivered and if it hasn't arrived 24 hours ahead of your planned journey, then call our Contact Centre.Which will give many more options when it comes to zoning (atm Oyster is limited in how many zones TFL can have) and capping (it should enable the 7 day capping that you get with Contactless) etc.I've been using my Contactless since moving to London two years ago, the daily £6.80 cap has come in handy plenty of times when I've had days where I've felt like I've lived on the tube That's interesting to hear about the oyster card phase-out.
